An unidentified male attempt to elude police on the Central Oregon Coast Sunday evening, Feb. 26, by jumping off the Yaquina Bay Bridge at Newport. The 24-year old survived his 100-foot fall and was rescued by the US Coast Guard. He reportedly had broken bones from the fall and was transported to a local hospital. One police officer stated he might be the first person to go off the historic bridge and survive.
