An ODOT bridge maintenance project will result in a single lane of travel across the Yaquina Bay Bridge in Newport for five nights beginning Sunday, July 12. ODOT bridge crews will be replacing two bridge joints, which should result in a quieter and smoother ride. In addition, the crews will replace two of four platforms used to access the bridge’s cathodic protection electrical system. Beginning Sunday night and continuing through Thursday night, flaggers will control travel across the bridge in alternating directions between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Travelers should expect delays of no longer than 20 minutes. The project is scheduled for completion on Friday morning, July 17.
