Office will close at 5 p.m. Friday, April 10, and reopen Thursday, April 23. The Brookings DMV Field Office will be closed for eight days to make improvements to the interior of the office. The office will close at 5 p.m. Friday, April 10, and will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday, April 23. After the project, business hours will remain the same: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, closing for lunch from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. each day. The office will get new flooring, carpeting, interior paint, ceiling tiles and lighting, and new walls and cabinets will provide more storage space. This will be the first significant upgrades to the office since February 1993, when DMV moved to that building, located at 97900 Shopping Center Ave., Suite 1. Because DMV offices tend to have longer lines just before and after weekends, holidays and other closures, customers may wish to visit OregonDMV.com to see if they can do their transaction online or by mail. If they wish to visit the Brookings office in person, they also may consider doing so either before April 10 or after April 23 because those days are likely to have longer lines. During the Brookings office closure, customers who need to visit a DMV office can consider the Coos Bay office, located at 1155 South Fifth Street. Before going to any DMV office, the agency suggests that you first check www.OregonDMV.com to make sure you have everything you need for your business at DMV. Common transactions such as renewing vehicle registration, changing your address, and reporting the sale of a vehicle can be done online.
