Bullying Prevention in Coos County will be on center stage at the Bullying Prevention Town Hall Meeting, which will be held Thursday, September 20, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at The Mill Casino, Salmon Room West, 3201 Tremont Ave, North Bend, OR. This will be an open forum for all community members – including youth – that are concerned about bullying behavior displayed in our community. This is an opportunity for participants to voice opinions, share information, and ask questions. We will have panel of six people seated at the front of the audience to address questions to; this panel will consist of a Therapist, a Children’s Doctor, a School Official, a Student, a Parent, and a Law Enforcement Officer. Bullying is a type of youth violence that threatens the well-being of our youth. Bullying can take the form of physical or mental harassment that can result in physical injuries, social and emotional problems, and academic problems. These harmful effects of bullying are often felt, not just by the victim, but also by their friends, their families, and can also hurt the overall health and safety of our schools, our neighborhoods, and our community. Please join in the conversation. Your voice matters! Join us on September 20 for the Bullying Prevention Town Hall Meeting. For more information, call Eric Gleason at 541-266-6741.
