News release from CBPD. On February 3, 2016, at approximately 1116 hours, Officers from the Coos Bay Police Department were dispatched to 2435 N. 10th Street, for a reported burglary in progress. The reported burglar was confronted by residents and remained on scene until officers arrived. David A. Norris-Hanks was taken into custody by arriving officers. It was learned that Norris-Hanks unlawfully entered a detached garage and began piling property to steal. Norris-Hanks was then confronted by residents, whom immediately called 911. Norris-Hanks was transported to the Coos County Jail for Burglary in the second degree, criminal mischief in the second degree and attempted theft in the second degree.
