McMenamins will reopen Old St. Francis in Bend, Crystal Hotel and Kennedy School in Portland, and Grand Lodge in Forest Grove, which closed due to COVID-19.
Two marijuana stores – Top Crop and Zion Cannabis – opened in Ontario. Warrenton-Hammond School District furloughed 35 classified employees, placed a temporary freeze on hiring, and is making other cost cutting measures due to COVID-19. Portland-based Moda Inc., which has about 1 million dental members, is furloughing up to 100 employees after a moratorium on nonurgent procedures due to COVID-19 spurred a drop in dental claims. Providence Health & Services – Oregon’s largest hospital system with locations in Hood River, Medford, Milwaukie, Newberg, Portland, and Seaside – will launch a variety of cost-cutting measures including furloughs and temporary pay reductions for at least 600 employees due to COVID-19. Brown’s Shoe Fit Co., a store in Roseburg, closed. Goodwill stores in Ashland, Central Point, Klamath Falls, Medford, Roseburg, and White City reopened after being closed due to COVID-19. Lane Transit District in Eugene will lay off 14 administrative staff due to COVID-19.
