Business Workshop Offered through SWOCC SBDC, June 12

Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Small Business Development Center (Southwestern SBDC) wants to help your small business learn how to manage your online reputation which requires a whole new skill set including monitoring the online conversation and engaging with customers and the tech-savvy to promote yourself in the best channels. These skills are becoming essential for small businesses.  This class is designed for the hospitality and service related business that depends on reviews from such sites as Travelocity, Yelp, Trip Advisor and Google Local. In this course we will cover claiming your business in these and other sites, how to get reviews from real customers and how to deal with negative reviews.   Back by popular demand, learn why marketing with Facebook is a must in today’s business environment.  This workshop will cover the tools and techniques for saving marketing money; determining if paying to promote (boost) your Page posts actually works; getting a solid ROI, return on investment) using Facebook; understanding Facebook’s ad terminology; building more followers if fan growth has reached a plateau; and avoiding the challenges faced when using social media marketing.  Marketing with Facebook and Managing Your Online Reputation will be taught by Misty Lambrecht.  Misty Lambrecht is a Google certified trainer and has taught Google, WordPress and Social Media classes at Oregon Coast Community College and Clackamas Community College’s Business Development Center. She has also been involved in helping small businesses with social media including Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and Pinterest.  In addition to her skills as a technology trainer, Misty is a graduate of the Oregon Coast Community College’s  (SBM) Small Business Management program.  Each workshop costs $20 per person and pre-registration is required.  WHEN: July 21, 2014  Marketing with Facebook held 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm and Managing Your Online Reputation held 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm; WHERE: The Business Center, 2455 Maple Leaf, North Bend; COST: $20 per person for each workshop.  Preregistration is required as space is very limited.  Only the first 25 registrations will be accepted.  Register online at www.BizCenter.org.  For more information contact Mary Loiselle at 541-756-6866 or mloiselle@socc.edu.
