On March 17, 2020 FEMA Region X in coordination with DLCD and the City of Florence will be providing three workshops aimed at providing information regarding flood insurance and related topics to insurance agents, realtors, surveyors, and other interested parties. The goal is to help prepare them to assist community residents when new FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps for Coastal Lane County, Dunes City, and the City of Florence take effect on June 5, 2020. However, the training is valuable to anyone interested in learning more about flood insurance and related topics! The workshops will be held on March 17, 2020 at the Florence Event Center, located at 715 Quince St., Florence, Oregon. No formal registration is required. Two identical flood insurance workshops will be offered, the first will take place from 9:00 am – 11:00 am and the second will take place from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. You only need to attend one of these insurance workshops as the information presented at the first workshop will be fully duplicated at the second workshop. Following the second workshop, a third surveyor workshop will be offered from 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm, which will focus on preparing FEMA Elevation Certificate forms.
