A 2.6-magnitude earthquake was recorded just off of Cape Mendocino in the Pacific Ocean early Friday morning, Jan. 10. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake occurred at 2:10 a.m., 90-miles west to southwest of Eureka, CA where two fault lines leave land, enter the ocean and then turns north to run parallel with the Oregon Coast.
