Two people swam to shore Tuesday afternoon, April 19, after their small boat capsized off of Bastendorff Beach near the South Jetty at the entrance to the Coos Bay Channel. The unidentified occupants pulled their boat with them to shore. They were treated for hypothermia and transported to Bay Area Hosptial in Coos Bay. Their black Labrador dog was found inside the overturned boat and rescued onshore.
