News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On 4/8/15 at about 1849 hours, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports of vehicles being broken into in the Charleston and Bastendorf Beach area south of Coos Bay. Witnesses reported seeing a red Ford Probe in the area and seemed to be related to the thefts. While Deputies were investigating the thefts a citizen called and reported a suspicious subject driving a red Ford Probe in the Barveiw area of Cape Arago Hwy. Deputies responded to that area and located the vehicle conducting a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver and only occupant in the vehicle was identified as 38 year old Jayson Bridges with a listed address of Keiser, Oregon. As a result of the investigation Mr. Bridges was arrested for Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle (2 cts), Theft 1, Theft 3, Criminal Mischief II (2 cts), and Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon. Mr. Bridges was transported to the Coos County Jail. His vehicle was seized pending a search warrant and further investigation is continuing.
