Just because you make it home doesn’t mean you’re home free! In December, four Drunk Drivers were arrested in Coos Bay. News release from CBPD. In December, Coos Bay Police Officers arrested four drunk drivers. Two of the drivers were arrested by officers working overtime specifically searching for drivers that may be impaired. The additional funding to cover overtime expenses was provided by Oregon Impact, an Organization committed to reducing the number of traffic fatalities on Oregon roads by funding saturation traffic enforcement operations and promoting driver education programs. As one impaired driver learned this December, just because you make it home doesn’t mean you’re home free. People may think that if they drive under the influence of alcohol and or drugs and make it home when they get stopped, they are home free, meaning they can’t get in trouble. This December one young man learned that wasn’t the case after he was stopped for a traffic violation and made it to his driveway. The Officer found that the driver was impaired and the man was arrested for DUII. The Coos Bay Police Department will continue with saturation traffic enforcement activities during the month of January.
If you have consumed alcohol and or drugs, please don’t risk getting arrested for DUII. Call a friend or a cab.
