Governor Kate Brown announced widespread restrictions last week on public gatherings and a two-week school closure beginning Monday, March 16, 2020. The measures are intended to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus which has 30 confirmed cases throughout the state and has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. In an effort to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and out of an abundance of caution for the public and staff, the City of Coos Bay Parks Commission meeting that has been scheduled for Thursday, March 19th has been cancelled.
