Theft from Vehicle
CBPD release – On June 11, 2019 Coos Bay police took a report of a theft from a vehicle parked on the 900 block of south 5th street that occurred approximately one week prior.  The victim stated an Apple iPad had been stolen, and the suspect had then taken several photos of themselves that had since been uploaded onto the victim’s Apple iCloud account. Officers recognized the suspect as Trevar Reed, a 20-year-old male of Coos Bay. Later that same day Reed contacted the police department lobby to pick up property that had been taken for safekeeping during a previous arrest. Officers interviewed Reed who eventually admitted to stealing not one but two iPads from the vehicle and returned them from his backpack to the officers. The victim was contacted who also identified the second iPad and the property with a total value of $1600-$2000 was returned to the victim.
