News release CCSO.  The Coos County Sheriff’s Office completed a focused Driving under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII) patrol weekend over the Fourth of July.  Deputies were out enforcing DUII and other traffic laws during the weekend beginning on June 30 and continuing through July 4th.  During this time period deputies wrote 7 citations for Driving While Suspended, 2 citations for speeding, 4 citations for seatbelt violations, 9 other traffic citations, and gave 18 warnings to motorists.  While no DUII arrests were made, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office hopes this is based on the belief that most people used alternative transportation or made conscious efforts to no drink and drive.
