On Wednesday, November 16, 2017 Sergeant Adam Slater from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office and his K-9 partner Odin were the guests of honor at a local gathering held by the Furry Friends Therapy Dogs of Coos County at the Coos Bay Fire Station 1 in Coos Bay. Their website can be found at https://furryfriendstherapydogs.org K-9 Odin conducted a meet and greet of several citizens, community members, and well-wishers who have been and continue to follow his progress through his recovery from a serious bacterial infection and subsequent return to full duty. K-9 Odin and Sgt. Slater answered several questions pertaining to both Odin and the bacterial infection which sidelined him for several weeks. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office is planning more community functions in the near future where you can meet Sheriff’s deputies from your local Sheriff’s Office and of course K-9 Odin. You can follow Odin’s progress and current updates on his face book page “Odin Coos County Sheriff’s Office K9.”
