DUII Lakeside
News release CCSO.  On 08/15/2017, Deputies had just cleared a dispute in Lakeside and was sitting near the intersection of 8th and Railroad Street, Lakeside, Coos County, Oregon. While at that location, a white in color car was driving down 8th Street at what appeared to be a high rate of speed. The vehicle was stopped by a deputy on 8th Street near Jacobson. Upon contact with the driver Aaron McCluskey, he advised he was doing around 40 miles per hour in a posted 25 mile per hour zone. While speaking with Aaron the deputy could detect an odor of alcohol coming from within the vehicle. Aaron was asked out of the car for standardized field sobriety test, which he agreed too. Upon completion of the test it was determined that Aaron was more likely than not driving under the influence of intoxicants. Aaron was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail. Aaron was offered the intoxilzyer, to which he agreed. Aaron’s results were a .13% blood alcohol content. Aaron was issued a citation in lieu of custody to appear for his charges.

DUII Seven Devils
News release CCSO.  On 08/15/2017, at approximately 1718 hours, Deputies were dispatched to the area of Seven Devils Road near milepost 9.5 for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival Deputies spoke with the only occupant who was identified as Carin Mae Welch from Nevada. Carin initially stated her boyfriend had been driving and fled the scene on foot after the accident. During a course of the investigation it was determined Carin was the only occupant accompanied by her dog. Carin did not maintain the corner, left the roadway and crashed into a tree. Carin was transported by ambulance to Bay Area Hospital for her injuries. Carin was later issued a citation for Operating a vehicle Under the Influence (DUII) along with other violations. Carin’s dog was transported to the shelter and lodged for the night.
