DUII/Lakeside
News release CCSO. On 08/24/2017, at approximately 2248 hours, Deputies received a report of a possible drunk driver who had hit a mailbox at 515 Bonneville Road, Lakeside, Coos County, Oregon. Deputies responded to the area and contacted the driver, who was identified as Kimbra Barnett from Portland Oregon. Deputies conducted standardized field sobriety tests with Ms. Barnett. At the conclusion of these field tests the Deputy had probable cause to believe she was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant. Ms. Barnett was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Ms. Barnett was transported to the Coos County Jail where she was booked for her charges. An intoxilyzer test showed Ms. Barnett’s blood alcohol content was a .16%. Kimbra was held on bail of $10000.00. On August 25 she was released on citation to appear in Coos County Court on September 25.
Criminal Trespass
News release CCSO. On 08-27-2017, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of mile post 21 on the Coos River Hwy for a report of a family disturbance. When deputies arrived they were told by family members that Chantelle Mrkonic was out of control and had attempted to gain entry into a family member’s residence without permission. It was also reported Ms. Mrkonic had spit in her grandmother’s face. Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Coos Bay resident, Chantelle Mrkonic, on the charges of Attempted Criminal Trespass-1, Domestic Harassment, and Criminal Mischief-2. Chantelle Mrkonic was transported to the Coos County Jail. Ms. Mrkonic was released on her own recognizance on August 29, and was set to appear in court on August 30.

News release CCSO. On 08-27-2017, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Coos/Sumner area on a report of a restraining order violation. Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived in the area of Stevens Lane and located 23 year old Ryan Langenberg inside a residence which he was restrained from. Ryan Langenberg was also in the company of his grandmother he is court ordered not to have any contact with. Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Ryan Langenberg on the charge of Violation of a Restraining Order and transported him to the Coos County Jail. Mr. Langenberg is still being held in custody on a parole violation and $7, 500 bail.
Stolen Vehicle/Bastendorff
News release CCSO. On 08/28/2017 at about 1101 hours, a Coos County Sheriff”s Deputy was patrolling the area of the South Jetty parking lot at Bastendorff Beach in Coos Bay, Oregon, attempting to conduct follow-up on a criminal trespassing case. Ther trespass had occurred earlier in downtown Charleston. The Deputy stopped a 1986 Mercedes 4 door car in the South Jetty parking area. The car had been previously reported stolen out of Klamath Falls, Oregon. An interview with the driver confirmed he had been operating the vehicle. As a result of the stop, William Postlethwait, of Klamath Falls, Oregon was arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Driving while Suspended Misdemeanor. Mr. Postlethwait was held untilhe was released on his own recognizance on August 31.
