Menacing
Collier Road, CCSO release – On July 23rd, 2019 at approximately 10:20 PM, Deputies were dispatched to a report of a disturbance on Collier Road in North Bend. Deputies located and interviewed the suspect, 32 year old Frank Vincent Nelson in the driveway. During the interview Deputies located damage to a vehicle that belonged to the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect told Deputies that it had occurred approximately two weeks prior. During the interview the suspects mother told Deputies that while arguing and yelling at her, he threatened to kill her while standing within an inch to an inch and a half of her causing her to be in fear of her safety. The suspect’s girlfriend also showed Deputies text messages she had received from the suspect while he was talking to Deputies. These messages were threatening her and telling her to confirm his story about damage to her vehicle. The suspect later confessed to Deputies of causing the damage to the vehicle that night during the argument. After talking with the suspect’s mother and girlfriend Deputies developed probable cause for Menacing Domestic, and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree. Frank Vincent Nelson was arrested and lodged at the Coos County Jail for Menacing – Domestic, and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree.
Assault
Perisimmon Rd., CCSO release – On 7/23/19 at approximately 11:15 PM, Deputies were dispatched to an assault that occurred at a residence located on Persimmon Lane in Coos Bay. Deputies arrived and contacted a female subject in the driveway, who had visible injuries to her face. The victim stated she had a verbal argument with her sister that turned physical. The victim stated her sister then struck her in the back of the head with a vodka bottle and punched her in the nose. The female suspect, identified as 64 year old Mary K. Sonbergh was contacted inside the residence. Sonbergh admitted to “hitting” her sister, but refused to elaborate as to how or why. Sonbergh was arrested for Assault Four Domestic and transported to Coos County Jail where she was lodged.
