Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Bandon Area
CCSO release – Date / Time: July 27th @ 9:30 p.m.; Case Number(s): 2023-00023001; Classification: Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing and Criminal Mischief II; Location: Hwy 101 / Bandon, Oregon; Suspect(s): James F. Deathrage (73); Bandon man threatens renter with a firearm, arrested on several charges. On July 27th, 2023, at 9:30 p.m. the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a call of shots fired at 50375 Hwy 101 Bandon, Oregon. The caller told dispatchers that his landlord, James F. Deathrage (73), had come to his residence and fired a gun at him during an altercation. Deputy H. Francis responded to the location and spoke with the reporting party. During the investigation, it was learned that an altercation occurred between the reporting party and Mr. Deathrage involving a semi-automatic pistol. As a result of the investigation James F. Deathrage (73) was arrested on unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, and criminal mischief II. Mr. Deathrage was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was booked and remains in custody.

Assault, Barview
CCSO release – Date / Time: July 28th, 2023 @ 2:34 p.m.; Case Number(s): 2023-00023080; Classification: Assault IV / Harassment; Location: Barview, Coos Bay; Suspect(s): Maxwell R. Pullin (33); Man arrested in Barview after report of disturbance in progress to C.C.S.O. Dispatch Center. On July 28th, 2023, at 2:34 p.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a report of a disturbance in progress in the Barview area. Deputy J. Lee responded to the location and investigated the incident. Maxwell R. Pullin (33) of Coos Bay was identified as the suspect in the altercation involving several parties. After an investigation, Maxwell R. Pullin (33) was arrested on the charges of Assault IV Domestic and Harassment Domestic. Mr. Pullin was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was booked and remains in custody.
