Criminal Trespass
Cape Arago Hwy., CCSO report – On August 30, 2018 at approximately 11:46pm a Coos County Deputy was patrolling the Charleston area near Cape Arago Highway and Boat Basin Road. The Deputy spotted a person sleeping in parking lot with a posted no camping sign located at 91141 Cape Arago Highway, Coos Bay, Coos County, Oregon. When the Deputy contacted the individual, the woman identified herself as 57-year old Janette A. Scott, transient. The Deputy was unable to identify the woman by the name provided. When the woman was asked to provide her given name, the Deputy was told to, “Figure it out”. Because the woman’s given name is required to issue her a citation for Criminal Trespass in the second degree, the woman was detained and transported to the Coos County Jail for finger printing. Upon arrival at the Coos County Jail the woman was finger printed and identified as Janet J. Wallace. With Janet’s actual identity verified, she was cited for Criminal Trespass in the second degree as well as Giving False Information to a Peace Officer in Connection with a Citation. Janet was released into the custody of the Coos County Jail.
Warrant/Probation
Roosevelt Lane, CCSO release – On September 4th, 2018 at 8:24 pm, Deputies responded to 63226 Roosevelt Lane, Coos Bay, to take a Criminal Mischief report. Prior to the Deputy’s arrival, the dispatch center learned the suspect was 27-yeaer old Nicholas L. Pierson, Coos Bay, and he had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest. Additionally the dispatch center was advised the reporting party believed Nicholas was still on the property. Upon the Deputy’s arrival, a man came from behind the house and told the Deputy that Nicholas knew he was there and Nicholas ran up the hill and through the woods to evade capture. The Deputy was able to hear sticks breaking in the bushes near where Nicholas had entered the woods. The Deputy yelled to Nicholas to stop as he was under arrest but Nicholas chose to continue further into the woods. The Deputy was able to catch up to Nicholas and he was placed into custody without further incident. It was also discovered Nicholas was a Coos County Corrections client and was on Probation. Nicholas’s Probation Officer was contacted who authorized a detainer for his arrest. Nicholas was transported to the Coos County Jail for a warrant charging Assault in the Forth Degree, Theft in the Second Degree, Reckless Endangering, Menacing and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Nicholas was booked on additional charges of Escape in the Third Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree. Nicholas was held at the Coos County Jail without bail.
