Summary: Intoxicated Coos County Man Arrested After Refusing to Leave Adult Establishment. On January 30th, 2024, around 11:32 pm, Coos County Dispatch received a 911 call for an intoxicated male subject refusing to leave the Bachelor’s Inn in Coos Bay. The intoxicated male had been physically escorted out of the building but refused to leave the property and began drinking alcohol in his vehicle. Deputies Z. Smith and K. Mong responded to investigate. When Deputies arrived, they contacted the intoxicated male, identified as Anthony Dixon (51). Deputies attempted everything possible to gain compliance from Mr. Dixon, even calling (2) cabs for him so he could safely return to his home. Dixon refused to comply or accept the help being offered. Ultimately, Deputies arrested Mr. Dixon for Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. Mr. Dixon was transported to the Coos County Jail where he was booked and processed.

Eastside Elude
CCSO release – Date / Time: February 1st, 2024, 1:40 a.m.; Case Number(s): 2024-00002641; Classification: Elude by Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Probation Violation; Location: N. Coos River Hwy; Suspect(s): Ian P. Cowan (30); Motorcycle operator attempts to elude deputy in Eastside. On February 1st, 2024, at 1:40 a.m. Sgt. A. Slater was patrolling North Coos River Hwy near Catching Slough when he checked a motorcycle on radar at over 100 mph. Sgt. Slater turned around and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the bike. The motorcycle fled from Sgt. Slater into Eastside, turning onto D Street and then 14th Avenue. The bike accelerated to a high speed up 14th Avenue, causing the operator to lose control and crash at the intersection of 14th Avenue and I Street. Sgt. Slater immediately located and aided the operator, who was identified as Ian P. Cowan (30). Although Mr. Cowan stated he was uninjured, he was transported to Bay Area Hospital for evaluation. Mr. Cowan was charged with Eluding by Vehicle, Reckless Driving, and a Probation Violation. Mr. Cowan was also cited for Driving While Suspended violation. The motorcycle was towed from the location by Mast Brothers Towing.
