On November 25th, 2023, around 10:44 pm, Coos County Dispatch received a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Mattson Lane in Coos Bay. Sergeant J. Clayburn immediately responded. During his investigation, Sergeant Clayburn learned that Michael Button (51) of Coos County had placed his hand around the victim’s throat, which restricted her ability to breathe. Mr. Button was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail, where he remains in custody without bail pending formal charges and arraignment for Domestic Strangulation, a class C Felony.
House Fire, Tarheel Ln., Coos Bay
CCSO release – Date/Time: November 26th, 2023, around 9:45 pm; Case #: 202300034213; Classification: House Fire; Location: Tarheel Ln, Coos Bay; Suspect(s): None; Summary: House Fire Ignites in Coos County. On November 26th, 2023, around 9:45 pm, Coos County Dispatch received a 911 call for a house fire at a residence on Tarheel Ln in Coos Bay with a possible occupant trapped inside. Coos County Deputies responded to the scene to assist Fire Personnel. Coos County Deputies, Charleston Fire, Coos Bay Fire, and North Bend Fire assisted with the blaze. The sole occupant of the residence was found to be out of the house. As of 10:48 pm, fire personnel remain on the scene, potentially working several more hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
