Burglar Captured, North Bay Rd.
CCSO release – Date/Time: February 12th, 2024, around 12:15 am; Case #: 202400003538; Classification: Burglary; Location: North Bay Rd; Suspect(s): Eric Barry (34); Summary: 34-Year-Old Coos County Male Arrested for Burglary of Residence. On February 12th, 2024, around 12:15 am, Coos County Dispatch received a report of someone trespassing at a residence on North Bay Road in North Bend. The reporting party stated that the property was being cared for by their family while the owner was away. Deputy K. Mong responded to investigate. Deputy Mong contacted the reporting party and learned that Eric Barry (34) was observed on camera entering the property and had not yet left. Deputy Mong arrived at the property, and while walking to the residence, he observed Mr. Barry running away from the house. The door to the residence was open, and lights were on. Deputy Mong requested cover units to respond and a K9 unit to locate Mr. Barry. Sergeant S. Moore and North Bend Officer T. Sanne responded to secure the perimeter while Sergeant A. Slater and K9 Cena searched for Mr. Barry. After approximately 10 minutes, K9 Cena located Mr. Barry, and he was taken into custody. Deputy Mong continued investigating and located numerous boxes stacked at the front of the residence with the personal property of the homeowners. Mr. Barry was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail for Burglary in the 1st degree and attempted theft. Mr. Barry was booked, processed, and remains in custody. Harassment, Cape Arago Hwy.
CCSO release – Date/Time: February 12th, 2024, around 6:30 pm; Case #: 202400003617; Classification: Harassment; Location: Cape Arago Highway, Coos Bay; Suspect(s): Shawn Moore (30); Summary: Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Coos County Man. On February 12th, 2024, around 6:30 pm, Deputy Z. Smith was patrolling the Cape Arago Highway area of Coos Bay when he observed a gray Chevy pickup truck driving with no tail lights. Deputy Smith observed the operator turn into a trailer park off Cape Arago Highway without properly signaling. Deputy Smith conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle at the parking space to a trailer, and the operator, Shawn Moore (30), quickly got out and tried to walk into the trailer. Deputy Smith ordered Mr. Moore to return to the vehicle, but he refused to comply. Deputy Smith attempted to detain Mr. Moore and a short scuffle ensued. Ultimately, Mr. Moore was arrested for Failure to Carry/Present a Valid Operator License and Harassment for his actions during the scuffle with Deputy Smith. Mr. Moore was transported to the Coos County Jail where he was booked and processed. Additionally, Mr. Moore received citations for the traffic violations.

Colorado Fugitive Arrest
CCSO release – Date/Time: February 12th, 2024, around 9:05 pm; Case #: 202400003633; Classification: Colorado Fugitive Arrest; Location: Coos County; Suspect(s): Brianna Paradise (27); Summary: 27-Year-Old Woman Arrested for Felony Warrant Out of Colorado. On February 12th, 2024, around 9:05 pm, Coos County Dispatch received a 911 call from a woman, Brianna Paradise (27), who reported experiencing voices in her head. Deputy Z. Smith and Deputy K. Mong responded to contact her. Dispatch told the Deputies that Brianna had an active Extraditable Felony Warrant out of Colorado. Deputies offered multiple mental health resources which Brianna declined. Due to the confirmed warrant out of Colorado, Brianna was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail, where she was booked, processed, and remains in custody.

Felon in Possession of Weapon, South of Bandon
CCSO release – Date / Time: February 9th 2024; Case Number(s): 2023-00036108; Classification: Theft I x2 / Felon In Possession of a Firearm x5 / Unlawful Possession of a Short-Barreled Rifle; Location: Hwy 101 (South of Bandon); Suspect(s): Windhurst, Jonathan W. (38). S.C.I.N.T. serves a search warrant at a residence south of Bandon and recovers several firearms and illicit narcotics. One man was arrested on several charges as a result. S.C.I.N.T. Detectives from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. A. Whittenburg, and Det. B. Davis has been actively investigating a major burglary/theft and narcotics operation over the past two months. During this investigation, S.C.I.N.T. has applied for and been granted multiple search warrants for locations in Curry County, Coos County & Lane County. On February 9th, 2024 S.C.I.N.T Det. B. Davis was granted a search warrant for a residence south of Bandon on Hwy 101. Due to the nature of the search warrant and firearms likely being inside the residence the Coos County Emergency Response Team was activated to assist in serving the search warrant. Members of A.T.F also assisted S.C.I.N.T.. As a result of the search warrant, S.C.I.N.T. Detectives recovered the following: Zastava Rifle (Confirmed stolen); Mossberg Shotgun; 5.56 Short-barreled rifle (Unlawfully shortened); Lever action 32 caliber rifle; Hundreds of rounds of ammunition; Firearm parts; Several different illicit narcotics of varying weight. As a result of the investigation, Jonathan W. Windhurst (38) was arrested on Theft I x2, Felon In Possession of a Firearm x5, and Unlawful Possession of a Short-Barreled Rifle.
