Warrant Arrest, Spin Reel
CCSO release – Date / Time: March 16th, 2023, at 4:02 p.m.; Case Number(s): S23-05880; Classification: Warrant Arrest; Location: Spinreel Road, Lakeside, Oregon; Suspect(s): Brian W. Rogers (47). Man arrested on outstanding warrants near Lakeside after a traffic stop. On Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 4:02 p.m. Deputy M.R. Smith with the Dunes Division patrolled the Spinreel Day Use access road towards Spinreel Road, near Lakeside. Deputy M.R. Smith observed a man driving westbound on the Spinreel Day Use access road with an obstructed front Oregon license plate. A traffic stop was made on the vehicle, and the driver was identified as Brian W. Rogers (47) from Lakeside. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center advised Mr. Rogers driving status in Oregon was suspended. Mr. Rogers additionally had multiple warrants out of Douglas County, Oregon, for his arrest. Detective Davis contacted the Reedsport Police Department, who advised they would lodge Mr. Rogers and arrange transport to the Douglas County Jail. Detective Davis arrived on the scene and assisted with driving Mr. Rogers to the Reedsport Jail, where he is still in custody.

Join Coos County Search and Rescue
CCSO release – The Coos County Search and Rescue Team (SAR) conducted bi-weekly training. SAR trains every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. The Coos County SAR is a mainly volunteer team overseen by Deputy J. Gray from the Criminal Division of the Sheriff’s Office. SAR is responsible and called upon during missing person cases, rescues, people walking away from Alzheimer/dementia care facilities, and many other reasons, including demonstrations throughout the county and beyond. Unlawful Use of Weapon, Siglun Lane, CB
CCSO release – Date / Time: March 18th, 2023, at 8:23 p.m.; Case Number(s): S23-06091; Classification: Unlawful Use of a Weapon / Menacing; Location: Siglun Lane, Coos Bay, Oregon; Suspect(s): George D. Lentz (61). Man arrested after firing a shotgun in a house with girlfriend nearby. On March 18, 2023, at 8:32 p.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call of a disturbance in progress, with shots fired on Siglun Lane just south of Coos Bay. Deputies immediately responded, contacted the victim, and moved her to safety. The suspect was identified as George D. Lentz (61) of Coos Bay. Eventually, Mr. Lentz came outside the residence to speak with law enforcement. As a result of the investigation, Mr. Lentz was arrested for menacing and unlawful weapon use. Mr. Lentz was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he is currently in custody.

Criminal Mischief, Transpacific Hwy.
CCSO release – Date / Time: March 17th, 2023, at 3:40 p.m.; Case Number(s): S23-05956; Classification: Criminal Mischief / Theft; Location: Transpacific Parkway (N. Spit); Suspect(s): Unk. Bureau of Land Management signs were stolen, and the structure was vandalized. On Friday, March 17, 2023, at 3:40 p.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a report of a driving complaint on Transpacific Parkway (North Spit). Deputies M.R. Smith and B. Kent from the Dunes Division responded to the area. While checking, the area deputies noticed all of the Bureau of Land Management public informational signs were missing, and the sign structure was significantly damaged by gunfire and an axe.  The Coos County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance to identify the suspect(s) who damaged the structure and stole the Bureau of Land Management public informational signs.  The Coos County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public that the Port of Coos Bay, which also has property in this area, has posted signs prohibiting shooting on their property. Additionally, the Coos County Assessors’ “ArcGIS” aerial photo map is available to determine property ownership before recreating.

Domestic Harassment, Bunker Hill
CCSO release – Date / Time: March 18th 2023, at 5:44 p.m.; Case Number(s): S23-06074; Classification: Harassment (Domestic); Location: W. Howard Lane, Coos Bay, Oregon; Suspect(s): Robin R. Shook (64)’ Man arrested on West Howard Lane in Bunkerhill for domestic menacing. On March 18, 2023, at 5:44 p.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a report of a disturbance in progress on West Howard Lane just south of Coos Bay. Deputies responded to the location and contacted the victim, who did not require medical assistance. The suspect was identified as Robin R. Shook (64) of Coos Bay. After speaking with Mr. Shook, he was arrested on the charge of domestic harassment. Mr. Shook was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he is currently in custody.
