Missing Child/Located, Bandon
CCSO release – Date / Time: March 20, 2023, at 3:15 p.m.; Case Number(s): S23-06193; Classification: Missing Child; Location: Franklin SW, Bandon, Oregon (County address); Victim: “Coral’; Missing 4-year-old located near Bandon by first responders. On March 20, 2023, at 3:01 p.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call from a frantic mother stating her 4-year-old daughter had gone missing from her yard on SW Franklin, which is a county address. Officer Whitmer with the Bandon Police Department immediately responded to assist the Sheriff’s Office, gathered vital information, and began to search the area. Members from Bandon Fire, Bandon Power, K9 Cena, and several deputies also responded to assist. After about 15 minutes of being reported as missing, “Coral” was located a short distance from home at a neighbor’s residence. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank ALL first responders who will drop everything to lend a hand in situations like this. The interagency cooperation we receive from all agencies in our County Jurisdiction is second to none. A HUGE thank you to our Dispatch Center for always being calm in the face of the storm.

Warrant Arrest, Big Ck., Bridge
CCSO release – Date / Time: March 20, 2023, at 2:31 p.m.; Case Number(s): S23-06188; Classification: Warrant Arrest; Location: Big Creek Road, Bridge, Oregon; Suspect(s): Fred J. Smalley (39); Coos County Sheriff Timber Deputy arrests man wanted out of Jackson County. On Monday, March 20, 2023, Deputy M.R. Smith was working Bureau of Land Management Timber Patrol on Big Creek Road in Bridge. Additionally, Deputy M.R. Smith was conducting a follow-up investigation on burglaries in the area. At 2:31 p.m. Deputy M.R. Smith contacted Fred J. Smalley (39) at an address on Big Creek Road. During the contact, Mr. Smalley was found to have a valid warrant for his arrest out of Jackson County, Oregon.  Mr. Smalley was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was booked into the jail and later released on the Jackson County Warrant with an appearance date.

Assault, Upper Sun Lane, CB
CCSO release – Date / Time: March 20th, 2023, at 7:33 p.m.; Case Number(s): S23-06210; Classification: Assault IV (Domestic); Location: Upper Sun Lane, Coos Bay, Oregon; Suspect(s): Paul D. Davis (44); Coos Bay man arrested after domestic disturbance east of Coos Bay. On March 20th, 2023, at 7:33 p.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a report of a disturbance in progress occurring on Upper Sun Lane, just east of Coos Bay. Deputy Z. Smith responded and spoke with everyone involved. As a result, the suspect was identified as Paul D. Davis (44) of Coos Bay. After an investigation, Mr. Davis was arrested for assault IV domestic. Paul D. Davis was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was booked and is currently in custody.

Criminal Trespass, Landrigh Rd., CB
CCSO release – Date / Time: March 21, 2023, at 7:00 a.m.; Case Number(s): S23-06222; Classification: Criminal Trespass I / Criminal Mischief III; Location: Landrith Road, Coos Bay, Oregon; Suspect(s): Jarred F. Yokum (28); Coos Bay man arrested after illegally entering outbuilding and fleeing the scene on a bicycle. On March 21st, 2023, at approximately 7:00 a.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a report of a burglary in progress on Landrith Rd, near Coos Bay, Oregon. Dispatch received a description of the suspect and forwarded it to responding deputies via radio. Deputy B. Freerksen responded and observed the suspect, who was identified as Jarred F. Yokum (28) from Coos Bay, riding his bicycle away from the residence. Deputy B. Freerkson stopped his vehicle before getting to Mr. Yokum and turned on his emergency lights to conduct a stop. Mr. Yokum’s facial expression became visually surprised, and he began to pedal faster, gaining speed and slamming his bicycle directly into the front of the patrol vehicle. During an investigation, Mr. Yokum was asked why he ran into the deputy’s patrol vehicle. Mr. Yokum responded that he thought he could ride over the top of the patrol vehicle if he got enough speed. Further investigation revealed that Mr. Yokum had also entered a building on the victim’s property, and they wanted to pursue charges. Mr. Yokum was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was booked on criminal trespass I and criminal mischief III charges. Mr. Yokum was later released on “ROR.” (Released on his recognizance or promise to appear)
