News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. Beginning Monday February 9th, 2015 and running through Sunday, February 22, 2015 the Coos County Sheriff’s Office will be joining other law enforcement agencies around the state in the first of 3 seat belt enforcement campaigns for the year. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office will be scheduling additional uniform patrol deputies each day of the week during this 2 week time frame, to work patrolling the roadways of Coos County looking for traffic violators. The focus of this campaign, as in all the past 3 Flags Campaigns and Seat Belt blitz’s over the years is on seat belt and child safety seat use and compliance. These campaigns, 3 each year over many years has been the major reason Oregon has become the leader in the nation in seat belt use.
