Coos Forest Protective Association (CFPA) wishes everyone a happy and safe 4th of July. CFPA wants everybody to enjoy their celebration, but remind everyone that fire season is in effect. If you plan on using fireworks please remember the following fire prevention tips: • Only use fireworks that are legal for use in Oregon; • Always use fireworks in areas free of flammable vegetation (Fireworks are not allowed on State Parks & Beaches or US Forest Service and BLM managed lands); • Always have a bucket of water or fire extinguisher immediately available; • Always use fireworks as intended by the manufacturer, never modify or alter them. Grasses and fine fuels are drying out fast and are easily ignited, so please remember to celebrate this Independence Day safely and make it a wildfire-free holiday. For more information on fire season and fire restrictions you can find CFPA on the web at www.coosfpa.net, call the closure line at 541-267-1789 or follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
