Celebrate National Poetry Month at North Bend Public Library, April 6

The North Bend Public Library will host two programs during the month of April to celebrate National Poetry Month. On Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm, the library will host a reading featuring Oregon poets Jon Boisvert and Kelly Terwilliger. Boisvert was born in Wisconsin and studied poetry at Oregon State University and the Independent Publishing Resource Center in Portland. Born is his first book. Terwilliger grew up on the Oregon Coast and is the author of a chapbook of poems, A Glimpse of Oranges. Her most recent collection is titled Riddle Fishhook Thorn Key. She currently lives in Eugene, Oregon, where she works as an oral storyteller and poet/artist-in-residence in public schools. National Poetry Month was inaugurated by the Academy of American Poets in 1996. Over the years, it has become the largest literary celebration in the world with schools, publishers, libraries, booksellers and poets celebrating poetry’s vital place in our culture. These events are free and open to the public. For more information, contact the North Bend Public Library at 541-756-0400.
