News release from the Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office. “On January 10, 2014 at approximatley 11:30 PM, deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fight in progress at an apartment complex in the 600 Block of N. Highway 101 in Depoe Bay. The deputies were assisted by the Oregon State Police. Upon arriving at the location, the suspect fled on foot and led responding units on a brief foot pursuit through the NE Depoe Bay area. The subject, 20 year-old Depoe Bay resident Nicholas Blake Weems-Smart, was later located and detained while an investigation ensued. The investigation determined Weems-Smart unlawfully entered another tenant’s residence and assaulted him. During the assault, a wall in one of the common areas of the aparment complex was damaged. Deputies also determined Weems-Smart was highly intoxicated during the incident despite being under the legal age to comsume alcoholic beverages in Oregon. Weems-Smart was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was lodged on one count each of Burglary in the Fist Degree, Assault in the Fourth Degree, and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree. The total bail for these crimes was set at $172,500. Weems-Smart was also issued a violation citation for Minor in Possession of Alcohol by Consumption with a presumptive fine of $650.”
