The Oregon State Marine Board is hosting a meeting for the Charter Boat Community on Tuesday, February 23rd, and invites charter boat owners and operators, guides and other interested parties to attend. The objective of the meeting is to discuss issues relating to charter boat registration and licensing with the Marine Board. The meeting will be held at the Port of Newport, 2120 SE Marine Science Dr., in Newport, in the Activity Room, beginning at 7 pm. The following items are on the agenda: * Program registration updates; * Employee registration; * Outfitter/Guide (Six-Pack) safety equipment and federal pre-emption restrictions; * Proposed rule changes and staff recommendations for a two-year charter boat license; * Industry-recommended rule changes.
