CHM LOCAL HISTORY CLASS: “10 Days that Shook the South Coast”, Dec. 17

The Coos History Museum will again offer a Local History Class this winter presented by local historian and museum volunteer, Steven Greif. The 2022 class, “10 Days that Shook the South Coast” will be hosted both at the Coos History Museum and online via Zoom for a hybrid experience. Class will be held weekly on Wednesday’s for 10 weeks from January 5th – March 9th and from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM. Members will have the first chance at registration for a discounted fee of $60 until December 19th. Non-members will be able to register beginning December 20th for a fee of $70. All registration needs to be completed by January 3rd at 5:00 PM and is available online as well as at the museum. We will be able to host up to 40 participants in-person at the Coos History Museum and the remainder will be required to join via Zoom. This year’s class will focus on ten different days on the Southern Oregon Coast that had an extraordinary impact on our local history. These historical local events often also made state and national news. Using a narrated slide show, Greif will present a timeline of the event, exploring the “before” and “after” of each momentous day.
