Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Community Education Department will be offering “Choices for Life” (HS 0571 65) Minor in Possession course during spring term. The purpose of this class is to provide substance abuse prevention, education, and early intervention. The information and class discussion will assist participants to understand how their beliefs and choices are influencing their lives. There is an emphasis on the addiction process and the physical effects of drugs and alcohol on the body. In addition, participants will learn about the impact underage drinking has on our society, and the legal implications of receiving a Minor in Possession (MIP) conviction regarding future academic scholarships and potential career opportunities.
