The South Coast Running Club’s annual Circle the Bay 18.6-mile run was won by Brad Ferner Saturday morning, August 13, at Ferry Road Park in North Bend. The former Douglas High School runner, who now competes for Southwestern Oregon Community College, crossed the finish line first (1:58.32) after circling Coos Bay. Brent Hutton of Bandon was second (1:59.07). The overall female winner was Sarah Adamek, who came in fifth overall (2:23.30) in the early morning race. The top three-person relay team (Sawyer Heckard, Michael Brown, Josh Snyder) came in at 1:50.08. Mixed Team (Jazmin Chavez, Katelyn Rossback, Connor Heckard) finished with a time of 2:18.49.The top female team (Hailey Finnigan, Alyssa Monohon, Megan Rutherford) clocked a 2:31.05. Twenty-five relay teams and 37-individuals took in this year’s run.
