City of North Bend Reports, Dec. 15

Excerpts from City Administrator’s report to the North Bend City Council Tuesday night, Dec. 13, 2022. NBFD – We have had many emergency responses recently including a technical rope rescue response. We have surpassed our total call volume from last year. NBPD – In the last four weeks the police department responded to 1,661 calls for service. Of those calls, there were criminal cases to include five burglary reports, six assault reports, 21 reports of theft, 10 unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, and 117 reports of criminal trespass. The North Bend Ice Rink opened for the first time on December 3rd, during the North Bend Christmas Festival. The ice rink opened at 11:00 am and had a line going down the street. The ice rink was busy the entire time, and everything ran smoothly. The community had so much fun skating and was already looking forward to their next visit. The City has been working with Recruit Hippa to give work experience to youth in our community. This program will help staff the ice rink moving forward with operating hours. Operating hours and other information is posted at https://www.northbendoregon.us/iceskatingrink
