A member of the Curry Co. Search & Rescue Rope Team rappelled down a cliff between Brookings and Gold Beach Sunday, June 5, to rescue a 23-year old male from Ohio. Bric Bane called 9-1-1, shortly after 4 p.m., himself after he fell about 100-feet down a steep embankment at the Natural Bridges. He told emergency dispatchers that he was on a small ledge that was starting to give way. The team member was able to secure Bane while others lifted him to safety.
