A male, already sentenced to 25-months in prison on a prior narcotics conviction, was given an additional 12-months by a Coos County Circuit Court Judge Thursday, July 17 in Coquille during a Bench Trial. According to a SCINT news release, Samuel Joseph Clifton was found guilty of a South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team (SCINT) drug investigation July 3rd. Thursday’s appearance involved a May 2013 event when he was stopped in a pickup truck by an Oregon State Police trooper. The trooper suspected the vehicle could be stolen and learned Clifton was driving suspended and uninsured. He was detained and a 30-30 rifle was located in the truck. A broken meth pipe was also found on his possession. Clifton was found guilty of being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.
