Columbia River Rescue, Aug. 27

Eleven people were rescued from the Columbia River Monday, Aug. 24 following a collision near the mouth of the river on the Washington State side of the Astoria-Megler Bridge. The vessels reportedly collided about 9 a.m. throwing six from the 20-foot craft and five from the other vessel into the cold waters of the river. Other boaters responded quickly and safely pulled everyone out of the water. The boats sank.
