The Committee for Family Forestlands will meet Monday, Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The committee will discuss new member appointments and the upcoming November Board of Forestry meeting. The meeting will be at the Oregon Department of Forestry’s Headquarters, Tillamook Room, Building D, 2600 State St., Salem. The meeting will also include: -Updates on the Private Forests Division, streamside shade buffer rulemaking next steps and the timeline for Bald eagle rulemaking. -An update from the Protection Division on the 2016 fire season and the Fire Program review. -Western competitive grant status and information about the Farm Service Agency Drought Program. The 13-member Committee for Family Forestlands researches policies that affect family forestland viability, natural resource protection and forestry benefits.
