We are excited to announce that our area will be the host of the 2014 Oregon Visitor Information Training Conference to be held May 18-20, 2014 at the Mill Casino Hotel & RV Park. This is an exciting opportunity as key staff from visitor centers and State Welcome Centers across Oregon will be in attendance to learn more about tourism around the state and also to experience this area to gain more knowledge when making recommendations to visitors. This conference moves to different parts of the state each year and this is the first time it will be held here in this area. To take advantage of this opportunity we’d like to invite you to be a part of this conference. This conference is open to anyone working in the tourism industry. Registration is just $75 and includes 2 and half days of training about the state and a full excursion day to experience some of the highlights in our local area. To qualify for a scholarship you must work in a tourism related business/association in the Coos Bay, North Bend or Charleston area. Since scholarships are limited we do ask that if paying for the conference does not provide a hardship that you leave the opportunity open for others that may have a greater need. There will also be a small trade show floor on Sunday night of the conference for businesses who would like to showcase what they have to offer to these very important attendees.
