News release CBFD. On Saturday, September 9, 2017 between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm, motorists will see Coos Bay Firefighters walking on Ocean Boulevard picking up trash along the roadway. The firefighters are donating their time to prepare Ocean Boulevard for the upcoming Prefontaine Memorial Run which is scheduled for September 16, 2017. The Coos Bay Fire Department asks for motorists to be aware of the increased pedestrian presence on the roadway and to use increased caution when traveling through this area. The staff of the Coos Bay Fire Department are proud of our community and want visitors to see the beauty of the area. This annual clean up event is just one way that firefighters work to make the Coos Bay area a great place to call home.
