$5,000 Grant Awarded To Provide School Supplies for Low-Income Students
Trust Management Services has awarded $5,000 to the Coos Bay Area Zonta Foundation to purchase school supplies for low-income children in all six Coos County school districts. Supplies will be purchased and distributed during the 2014-2015 school year. Zonta’s Little Red Schoolhouse Program, started in 1998, has helped tens of thousands of Coos County schoolchildren start off on the right foot on the first day of school. The program provides basic school supplies to low-income students including pencils, paper, scissors, backpacks and much more. Over 4,400 children in Coos County qualified for assistance at the beginning of the 2013-2014 school year in September. Trust Management Services, based in Waldport, Oregon, has been a longtime supporter of the Little Red Schoolhouse Project. “Even though the number of low-income children in Coos County continues to grow each year, our goal is always to provide a basic set of supplies for all kids who don’t have the money to buy their own,” explains Michaela Vonderohe, Project Coordinator. “Trust Management Services has been a valuable partner in helping us reach as many students as we can.” For more information, or to donate to Little Red Schoolhouse, please contact Michaela Vonderohe at 541-217-1058 or mkayla2000@yahoo.com.
