Coos Co. Elections, Nov. 4

Final “Unofficial” totals have been released by the Coos County Elections Dept. for Tuesday’s Nov. 3, 2020 General Election. According to a report, all 18 Precincts have reported in Coos Co. with a total of 36,847 ballots cast. Voters chose Donald Trump (58.90%) over Joe Biden (38.44%) in the race for President. Statewide: Biden leads Trump (57.3% to 39.8%) in early returns. Jo Rae Perkins (55.58%) over Jeff Merkley (41.26%) for U.S. Senate. Statewide: Merkley leads Perkins (57.7% to 38.7%) in early returns. Alex Skarlatos (57.30%) over Peter DeFazio (40.43%) for US Representative District 4. District wide: DeFazio wins (51.6% to 46.2%). State Senator 1st District Dallas Heard (66.95%) over Kat Stone (32.87%) for State Senator District 1 (District wide: Heard 68.6% to Stone 31.2%), and Dick Anderson (54.08%) over Melissa T. Cribbins (40.64%) for State Senator District 5. (District wide: Anderson 49.3% to Cribbins 46.6%). David Brock Smith (68.88%) over Calla Felicity (31.00%) for State Representative District 1 (District wide: Brock Smith 68.8% to Felicity 31.0%), and Boomer Wright (58.78%) over Cal Mukumoto (41.12%) for State Representative District 9 (District wide: Wright (57.5% to Mukumoto 42.4%). Coos County Commissioner Position 1: Bob Main (55.44%) over Katy Eymann (44.11%). Coos Co. Treasurer: Megan Simms (57.91%) over Steve Scheer (41.72%). City of Coos Bay Mayor: Joe Benetti (58.41%) over Mark Daily (28.13%) and Steven St. Matthew McSweeny (12.35%). Coos Bay City Council: Stephanie Kilmer (26.78%), Drew Farmer (22.20%) & Lucinda DiNovo (19.92%). Coquille Mayor: Sam Flaherty (63.03%) over Matt Rowe (36.26%). City of North Bend Mayor: Jessica Engelke (52.34%) over James Rose (47.08%). North Bend City Council: Eric Gleason (17.18%), Susanna Noordhoff (16.81%) & Pat Goll (16.46%). In the measures: Charleston Area Tax on Short Term Lodging: No (51.31%) to Yes (48.69%). Bandon School Bond: Yes (65.08%) to No (34.92%). State officials say a new election’s record was set in Oregon with more than 2.15 million votes cast. All of the Coos County Elections Dept. returns can be found on the County’s website.
