Assault
News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. “On 03-01-2014 at about 2046 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies, Charleston Fire and Bay Cities Ambulance were sent to a residence on Kingfisher Drive in Charleston, Oregon to a report of an assault. Upon arrival the found 50 year old Dorene Alexander had been assaulted, receiving injuries to her face. She was transported to Bay Area Hospital by Bay Cities Ambulance. During the investigation it was learned that Ms. Alexander had been assaulted by her boyfriend, 47 year old Brett Cariveau of Charleston. It was learned that Mr. Cariveau had fled from the residence prior to deputies arriving. During the evening and early morning hours Deputies searched many areas around Charleston looking for Mr. Cariveau. On 03/02/2014 at about 0732 hours, Coos County Deputies located Brett Cariveau in Charleston and arrested him for Assault IV (Domestic). Mr. Cariveau was transported to the Coos County Jail where he was booked and lodged and is being held in lieu of $10,000 Bail.”
