News release Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On 06/07/16, at approximately 2132 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Robertson Lane near Wallace Road, off Cape Arago Hwy, Coos Bay for a report of a burglar being held down by the victim. Upon the deputies arrival they found 25 year old Andrew Dunn and his Father-in-Law, 52 year old Donald Messenger, both of Coos Bay, physically holding down another male identified as 34 year old Adam Rodgers of Coquille. Deputies were able to secure Mr. Rodgers and then learned from Mr. Dunn and Mr. Messenger that Mr. Messenger saw Adam Rodgers breaking into Mr. Messenger’s truck and when Mr. Messenger yelled at Rodgers he ran off and Mr. Messenger chased him. Mr. Dunn learned of what was going on and assisted Mr. Messenger in running down Rodgers and physically holding him until Deputies arrived. It was determined that Adam Rodgers had broken into the victims 1990 Ford truck and tried to take it when the owner confronted him. Adam Rodgers was arrested for Unlawful Entry into a motor vehicle, Attempted Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, Criminal Mischief II and had three warrants for his arrest. Adam Rodgers transported to the Coos County Jail and booked.

News release Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On June 9, 2016, at about 0006 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 290 S. 8th Street in Lakeside for a report of a prowler. It was reported that a male subject was found attempting to break into a trailer on the property and was confronted by the home owner. Upon arrival Deputies located the suspect in the parking lot on 8th Street and detained him and spoke with witnesses. Deputies learned that the suspect, 40 year old Damien Ritter, was underneath a trailer at the address on 8th Street and started banging and yelling. The ownerconfronted Ritter and Mr. Ritter took off running through the RV park, yelling and screaming. Damien Ritter entered a vehicle in the park, attempting to hide. Residents were able to maintain a visual on the suspect until Deputies arrived on scene. Damien Ritter was arrested for Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle, Disorderly Conduct II and Criminal Mischief III. Mr. Ritter was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was released to jail staff.
