Obstructing
News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On the morning of 03/11/2015 Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies assigned to the Sheriff’s Office Civil Division, went to the residence at 2295 Commercial Street in North Bend, Oregon to serve the final notice of eviction and Lockout at that residence. When the Civil Deputy arrived at the residence with a local locksmith, the deputy announced numerous times of their presence. Not getting any response the deputy posted the residence and began the process with the locksmith of gaining entry into the residence to clear it, change the locks and then turn it over to the Property Management Company. As the Locksmith was beginning to work on the lock at the front door the deputy heard a male voice tell the deputy to stop and not to go any further as he was not going to leave the residence. The deputy attempted to converse with the person inside but to no avail. It became very evident to the deputy that the subject inside was not coming out or going to leave. The Sheriff’s Deputy then called for assistance and North Bend Police and additional Sheriff’s Deputies arrived. The man inside was identified as the previous home owner, 46 year old Daniel Perry. Both the Sheriff’s Deputies and North Bend Police attempted to make contact with Mr. Perry, but again he refused to come out of the residence and eventually broke contact with the officers at about 2:30 PM. Officers from North Bend maintained surveillance on the residence, the Sheriff’s Civil Deputy conducted more investigation into Mr. Perry learned from family and friends that there were reportedly a large number of firearms in the residence, that Mr. Perry had been stock piling provisions of food and water and had recently become more reclusive and not taking his medications. On 03/12/15 the Sheriff’s Office was able to obtain an arrest warrant for Mr. Perry for Criminal Trespass I and also learned that Mr. Perry had a felony record and was employed by Coos County Parks Department. Over the course of the evening of the 11th, all of the 12th and the morning of the 13th, police were able to keep updated on Mr. Perry’s status with the assistance of family and friends that were maintaining phone contact with Mr. Perry. He still refused to leave the residence. On Friday morning, 03/13/15 it was learned that Mr. Perry had left the residence and was in a white vehicle somewhere in the Coos Bay, North Bend area. Mr. Perry had contacted family and told them that he had moved out of the residence and that he would not be returning. The Sheriff’s Office was able to go to the residence and clear it and complete the eviction process, getting the property turned over to the property management people. On Friday afternoon, 03/13/15 at about 4:18 PM, the Sheriff’s Office received information that Mr. Perry’s white vehicle was seen near the Mill Casino heading north on Hwy 101. A Sheriff’s Deputy spotted Mr. Perry in his white car near Riley Ranch County Park on Hwy 101 at Hauser. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle and a short chase ensued through the county park with Mr. Perry stopping his vehicle back at the entrance to the park on Hwy 101. With the assistance of Oregon State Police Troopers, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and other Law Enforcement agencies, the area surrounding Mr. Perry’s vehicle was blocked off and officers attempted to make contact with Mr. Perry. Mr. Perry remained barricaded in his vehicle, letting officers know that he was armed with multiple weapons. At about 4:55 PM, Mr. Perry gave himself up to police and he was secured without incident. Mr. Perry was taken into custody on the arrest warrant for Criminal Trespass I and additional charges of Carrying a concealed Weapon and Felon In Possession of a Weapon. Mr. Perry was transported to Bay Area Hospital for a mental evaluation and after being cleared was transported to the Coos County Jail and booked on the 3 above charges.

Criminal Trespass & Assault
News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On 03/12/15 at about 4:14 PM, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to report of a disturbance at 906 Bowron Road, Lakeside, Coos County, Oregon. When Deputies arrived it was discovered that Dean Frisbee, 58 years of age had trespassed on to Felicia Mahone’s property and caused damaged to Mahone’s property. Frisbee also threatened Mahone with a sledge hammer during the altercation. Frisbee also struck Israel Solley with his vehicle as he was attempting to leave the scene. Solley was not seriously injured as result of the assault. When Deputies arrived Frisbee had fled the scene. On 3/13/15 at 2:36 PM, Coos County Sheriffs Deputies located Mr. Frisbee at a vacant lot next to 906 Bowron Road. Dean Frisbee was arrested on the charges of Criminal Trespass II, Menacing, Harassment, Assault IV, and Criminal Mischief II. Mr. Frisbee was transported to the Coos County Jail where he was booked.

Domestic Menacing
News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. Narrative: On March 13, 2015, at approximately 2003 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance at the KOA Campground, located at 68632 Highway 101, in the Hauser area of North Bend, Coos County, OR. The initial report was of a boyfriend ramming his vehicle into his girlfriend’s vehicle, brandishing a handgun, and then fleeing on foot still armed with the handgun. Coos County Deputies and North Bend Police Department Officers arrived on scene at 2013 hours and located the crashed vehicles in front of the KOA Campground Office. Deputies learned the victim was 38-year-old Andrea Gross, and the suspect was her boyfriend of 6 years, 29-year-old Robert Connolly Jr. That the two of them had been in an argument at their residence when Mr. Connolly was in the process of leaving the residence. Mr. Connolly was in a Nissan Pathfinder and used it to ram the driver’s door of the couple’s second vehicle, a Toyota 4Runner. Ms. Gross hit the 4Runner then left the residence to a shop on the property, when Ms. Gross followed in the 4Runner, Mr. Connolly fled the property in the Pathfinder. Ms. Gross followed again and attempted block the Pathfinder in at the entrance to the KOA Campground where witnesses then called in the disturbance. Mr. Connolly showed witnesses that he was armed with a handgun and then fled the area on foot before police arrived. Oregon State Police Troopers and Coos Bay Police Department Officers arrived on scene a short time later to assist; one of the Coos Bay Officers being a K-9 unit. Officers began a K-9, looking for Mr. Connolly which was successful, only lasting 7 minutes before Robert Connolly Jr was located and taken into custody without incident. Officers located the .40 cal semi-auto handgun in the brush on the ground near the suspect, loaded with a round chambered in the barrel along with suspected methamphetamine. Officers also located a number of firearms in Mr. Connolly’s vehicle that were seized. Robert Connolly Jr was arrested for: ORS 163.190 – Domestic Menacing, ORS 164.365 – Criminal Mischief I, ORS 164.135 – Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, ORS 475.894 – Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine, ORS 166.240 – Carrying a Concealed Weapon, ORS 811.700 – Fail to Perform Duties of a Driver – Property, and ORS 162.295 – Tampering with Physical Evidence. Coos County Deputies transported Robert Connolly Jr to the Coos County Jail without incident, where he was booked and held on $115,000 bail. Ms. Gross did not require any medical attention at the scene.
