Coos Co. Vaccine Update, June 7

CHW release – Coos County is open to administer vaccines to anyone age 12 and over. 12 to 17 year olds can now receive the Pfizer vaccine. Coos County vaccine administration is moving quickly due to the partnership of many area agencies. Bay Area Hospital, Bay Cities Ambulance, Bay Clinic, Coast Community Health, Coos Bay Fire Department, Coos Health & Wellness, Coquille Tribe, Coquille Valley Hospital, CTCLUSI, North Bend Medical Center, Nova Urgent Care, Southern Coos Hospital, and Waterfall Health Clinic. Many pharmacies also support vaccine distribution in Coos County including Bi-Mart, Broadway Pharmacy, Fred Meyer, Rite Aid, Safeway, Walmart, and Walgreens. The current population number used by Oregon Health Authority for Coos County is 63,315 total population. There are 52, 930 who are 16 and over in Coos County. The newest vaccination goal for Coos County is to have 65% of the 16 and older population vaccinated so that we can lift most of the restrictions that are currently in place.
