CHW release – Based on Monday, June 7th metrics, Coos County will move to Low Risk Guidelines. This move will be effective as of June 9th, 2021. We have done very well at continuing to reduce our new cases. Our success is partially due to the increased number of vaccines administered in Coos County. Thank you for continuing to do your part to avoid a resurgence of new cases in Coos County. If you have specific question on guidance for each risk level you can go to our website. Some ways to continue to keep Coos County cases low include: • Continue to use masks appropriately. The newest guidance on face masks can be found HERE. • Get vaccinated, not only will this keep you safer from COVID-19, it will also put you in the running for the Lottery drawing of $1,000,000 at the end of June. • Get tested if you have symptoms. • Stay home if you are sick. Going to work or to church will you have symptoms is one of the most common ways that COVID is spread. Thank you for doing your part to avoid a resurgence of new cases in Coos County. Our graphic includes updates on school metrics as well as county metrics. School and business metrics are different. Business metrics are guided by the Governor’s Office and the Oregon Health Authority and school metrics are guided by the Oregon Department of Education Ready Schools Safe Learners guidance. Schools have strong protocols that have increased protections so that students can return to school in person safely. Oregon Health Authority releases the metric data every Monday using a two week “look back” period. This allows communities, and Oregon Health Authority, to see case numbers on which decision are based to increase or decrease our county’s safety guidelines. If you have specific question on guidance for each risk level you can go HERE.
