Coos History Museum to Host First Tuesday Talks Lecture Series, Oct. 2

Guest Speaker:  Mary Beth Beuke – Artist, Author and Owner, West Coast Sea Glass; Lecture Program:  The Sea Glass Journey – Finding, Identifying and Stories of the Ocean’s Frosty Gems; Tuesday – October 2, 2018; 6:30 pm – 7:30pm; Admission is Free for Coos History Museum Members, or $ 7.00 for Non-Members. President of the North American Sea Glass Association ’05-’10 and published sea glass writer, photographer and speaker, Mary Beth Beuke is a Pacific Northwest native with one of the world’s most elaborate sea glass collections. She is owner, artist and collector for West Coast Sea Glass and her sea glass art jewelry is now found in over 50 galleries all over the world. She’s journeyed the planet for sea glass for a lifetime and her story and collection have been featured on the Travel Channel, in National Geographic, Smithsonian, Coastal Living, NY Times, Parade, Radio New Zealand, Ocean Home, Seattle Times, Sunset and more. MB exhibits her collection at museums and libraries often. Mary Beth has won Startup Nation’s “Leading Moms in Business” award. She lives and uses her sea glass collection in fine art jewelry while working from two studios along the shores in Washington State where she is also co-founder of the “Smarties, Smart Art Instruction” school for artist entrepreneurs. She has three children and enjoys kayaking and public speaking in her spare time. Mary Beth Beuke is the author of, The Ultimate Guide to Sea Glass, Skyhorse Publishing. The Ultimate Guide to Sea Glass is a comprehensive guide with high quality, color photos describing what sea glass is, its allure, history and unique aspects. The Ultimate Guide to Sea Glass is a definitive work on everything sea glass. Copies of, The Ultimate Guide to Sea Glass, will be available in the museum store. A book signing will follow the lecture. The author will also have her Sea Glass jewelry on display and for sale at the lecture; 20% of the sales will go to benefit the Coos History Museum.  The lecture will begin at 6:30 pm, lasting about 45 minutes followed by questions from the audience.  The Coos History Museum exhibits and the museum store will be open after hours from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm. The First Tuesday Talk Lecture Series is sponsored by the Al Peirce Co., LLC. with additional support from The Mill Casino.
