ATV Accident
News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. “On 11-30-13 at about 1535 hours, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, Hauser Fire Department and Bay Cities Ambulance responded to an injury traffic accident at the Oregon Dunes on Horsfall Ridge. The accident occurred when a Sand Rail operated by Michael Bushong jumped off of the top of a dune, landing on top of a Dodge Durango SUV operated by Tiffiny Boyd. A passenger in the Durango, William Simmons, was injured sitting in the right front passenger seat of the Durango. He was transported off of the sand by Hauser Fire and then taken to Bay Area Hospital by Bay Cities Ambulance. Mr. Simmons was later released from the hospital. Michael Bushong was cited for Careless Driving.”
Attempt to Elude
News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. “On 02 December, 2013 at about 11:30 PM, A Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to contact the driver of a pickup truck for operating a motorized vehicle on Bastendorf Beach which is prohibited. The driver of the truck drove away from the Deputy and fled to another part of the beach. The Deputy was assisted by an officer from the Coquille Tribal Police and was able to apprehend the driver. Subsequent investigation indicated the driver, Darrin Carlin, age 48, transient was a registered sex offender who had failed to report a lawful current address as he was required by law to do. He was charged with Attempting to Elude a Police Officer with a Vehicle, Sex Offender Fail to Register and additionally he was placed on a Probation Detainer by his Probation Officer.”
Assault
News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. “On November 26th, 2013 at about 8:44 am, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on Braley Road, Coos Bay to a report of a domestic assault. The victim, 31 year old Amber Alders of Coos Bay was transported to Bay Area Hospital due to her injuries she received in the assault. The identified suspect, the victim’s former boyfriend had fled the residence prior to the deputy arriving. On 02 December, 2013 a Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy located and arrested Patrick M. Dorsey, age 25, for Assault IV Domestic and Criminal Mischief III as a result of the investigation of the incident which occurred on 26 November, 2013. He was arrested and lodged at the Coos County Jail.”
